Well, maybe. If his injuries ever clear up. Needless to say the English team has offered Bale a new contract despite his only appearing in 12 games in his debut season. He spent most of the time suffering from injuries (which you can also read about on this site).

Bale had started his season rather well, scoring three goals in his twelve games, including one excellent one against Arsenal. His foot just kept bugging him, though, and by December he was off the field and trying to rehabilitate himself - a rehabilitation that saw him miss Tottenham’s championship win over Chelsea.

He’s since returned for pre-season, where he’s playing well. Chances are good Tottenham’s doing this to keep him from being snagged by any other clubs, but, hey. Tottenham fans aren’t complaining.

Congrats go out to Gareth Bale this month. According to a story in the Daily Post Bale and a few others boys - Wayne Hennessey and Joe Ledley, to be exact - have made it into the Wales under-21’s squad that will be battling it out against Romania in the European Championship qualifier.

The three will be joining plenty of other players for the under-21 squad, which as of now has been fully selected. It includes players from all over the country, including (but not limited to, and beyond the first three guys) Neal Eardley, Christ Gunter, Grant Basey, Lewin Nyatanga, Christian Ribeiro, Mark Bradley, Joe Ledley, Craig Davis, Ched Evans and Sam Vokes. The team includes a mix of pros and seniors.

Wales will be hosting Romania at the Wrexham Racecourse on August 20 and then again in Iasi on September 9.

Does Gareth Bale have a girlfriend? A good question, and one that plenty of ladies (and perhaps men - who knows, eh?) have probably asked themselves in the past, and will ask themselves again in the future.

Unfortunately for them there is no straight answer when it comes to Bale. Though he doesn’t seem to make himself as private as possible there’s also little information about his life, girlfriends included. One minute he has one, the next he doesn’t.

There was a time, around 2006, when he did have a verified girlfriend in the form of Melanie Slade. This small celebrity seems to have gained notoriety for no reason other than being the girlfriend to football players, as she has since moved from Bale to another English player, Theo Walcott. So that’s one girl down.

The verdict? There’s no clear verdict. Perhaps Bale has one that he’s just kept well hidden. It doesn’t seem so, though, so feel free to try and worm your way into his life, ambitious girls out there.

Injury comes to even the best football players. And Tottenham player Gareth Bale, as of the new year, is no exception.

Bale injured his foot in early December, requiring him to be examined and resulting in a long-term recuperation period while the injured area healed. Doctors at the time of the injury predicted that Bale would not likely be back on Tottenham’s lineup for at least three months. Officials at Tottenham hoped to have him back in play by the end of the season.

But it was not to be. Though his foot was declared to be mending well, Bale was declared unfit to participate in the remainder of Tottenham’s season in February. He’ll have to sit out the rest of the year and wait for the next season to roll by. Not a happy prospect for the rising football star.
